You may wonder what to expect, and what the benefits of pursuing therapy may be. In my experience, coming to therapy gives you a time and space to look at issues that are causing you distress. While pain isn’t comfortable, it can motivate you to make changes in your life that will bring you a greater sense of vitality and well-being.
While I enjoy working with a variety of therapeutic approaches, I am primarily psychodynamic in orientation. This means that I believe that our early environment and experiences have a profound impact on our way of understanding and relating to the world. As adults, we may discover that we are unable to create the lives we want while being constrained by unhelpful beliefs, feelings, and behaviors stemming from our younger years.
